This practical training helps participants strengthen their ability to prepare for, plan and conduct effective negotiations in the IOM context. Through discussions, case studies and role plays, participants develop the skills, techniques and strategies needed to navigate negotiation challenges and achieve constructive outcomes with a wide range of stakeholders.
The training covers topics such as IOM's negotiation environment, negotiation fundamentals, negotiation planning and preparation, stakeholder engagement, communication techniques, common negotiation challenges, and approaches to achieving mutually beneficial outcomes.

7) How many participants can attend each cohort?
Each cohort is limited to 18 participants. As places are limited, applications will be reviewed according to the eligibility and prioritisation criteria.
If several cohorts are announced at the same time, applicants may indicate their preferred cohort. Where only one cohort is offered, applicants will not be asked to choose between cohort options.

Active staff holding a Regular, Fixed-term, Special fixed-term, or Special short-term (graded or ungraded) contract.
Completion of all IOM mandatory training.
Expected to remain with IOM for at least six months following completion of the learning initiative (supervisor confirmation of the expected extension is sufficient).
Managerial approval to attend the learning initiative, confirming alignment with the participant’s learning goals.
Commitment to complete the entire learning initiative, including active participation and camera use during virtual sessions.
English proficiency sufficient to understand and actively participate in the learning initiative.

Yes. Applicants should upload on the application form the supervisor approval confirming their participation in the course and their release during the training hours.
