As an IOM-UN staff, you are required to complete the mandatory courses within your first 100 days in IOM. Upon completion, please submit your certificates to your HR Administrator and upload a copy in your learning transcript in Wave Learn following this guide 


In total, there are 7 courses that you are required to complete as an IOM personnel. These are as follows:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Sign-up is required to access the mandatory courses in the IOM E-Campus portal. Please use your IOM email address during the sign-up process. For further guidance, you may refer to this guide.

Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA)
Mandatory PSEA awareness raising for all IOM staff, interns, consultants and partners. For IOM personnel who have not yet taken either the: 
  • IOM PSEA face-to-face / webinar training; or 
  • IOM PSEA online micro-modules
Please ensure that you immediately complete at least one of the mandatory IOM PSEA courses mentioned above. 
Mandatory training since 05 February 2016 (IN/234 Policy and Procedures for Preventing and Responding to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse)

The course is available in 3 different formats:
  1. Face-to-Face (6hrs) - to be completed every 3 years.
  2. Virtual / webinar training (2.5 hrs) - to be completed every 3 years. 
  3. Self-paced online micro-modules (1hr) - to be completed every 3 years.

Ethics and Conduct at IOM: The Values we Share
In this online course, we focus on IOM's core ethical values such as integrity, loyalty, independence and impartiality. These values are the foundations on which IOM's legal rules, such as the Standards of Conduct and Unified Staff Regulations and Rules, are based.  
Mandatory training since 14 February 2017 (Staff Advisory).
Self-paced online course (1hr). This is a one-time course.

IOM Data Protection Principles Online Training Course
This course helps IOM employees to understand the IOM Data Protection Principles and explains how IOM staff should protect personal data of IOM beneficiaries.  
Mandatory training since 15 September 2021 (Please see attached Staff Advisory on Data Protection training for staff members)
Self-paced Curriculum (2hrs). This is a one-time course.

Note: This curriculum is NOT mandatory for consultants, interns and third-party contractors EXCEPT for those who are processing (collecting, analyzing, storing etc.) personal data of IOM beneficiaries.
I Know Gender Modules 1-2-3
This course provides an introduction to the concepts, international framework, and methods for working toward gender equality and women’s empowerment.
Mandatory training since 25 September 2015 (Staff Advisory)

I Know Gender Module 16: Gender Equality and Migration
Through this module, you will learn about international migration trends from a gender perspective, how to conduct a gender analysis and how to start mainstreaming gender equality into your everyday work at every stage of the migration cycle.

Information Security Awareness
These courses intend to give a better understanding of why and how we can protect our privacy and keep our information and knowledge safe with a few simple habits in our daily work.

BSAFE
BSAFE is the new online security awareness training. It replaces both Basic Security in the Field (BSITF) and Advanced Security in the Field (ASITF).
