1. I have just joined IOM as a new staff member and need to complete the mandatory courses. Should I do that in IOM E-Campus or Wave Learn? 

As an IOM staff member, you need to complete the mandatory courses in Wave Learn, IOM’s official learning management system for staff.  

 

In case you have already completed some of the trainings in E-Campus or other learning portals across the UN system, you therefore need to download your completion certificates from those external sites and upload into Wave to update your records.   

   

2. As a HR focal point, how can I update discrepancies showing in Wave Learn for mandatory training records of staff members and/or ensure that SDL records reflect the most recent mandatory training completion status of staff in my office/mission? 

Course completion in external portals like UNDSS, UN Women, E-Campus, etc. are not captured in the report generated from Wave Learn. To align the mission/IOM office’s records with SDL’s data, please refer to the following options: 

 

3. As a HR focal point, how can I access the latest mandatory training compliance report for 2025? 

At the moment, we are working on HRFP’s access to extract reports directly from Wave Learn. While this feature is currently in progress, kindly submit a report request to SDL by completing this service request form in the HR Support Portal.  

 

4. How can I access mandatory courses in Wave Learn? 

Please be guided by the latest information and links found in this FAQ:  IOM-UN Mandatory Trainings: List, links, enrollment codes/keys, frequency and other details : IOM Human Resources Support Portal.  

 

5. Can mandatory trainings be assigned to new hires at the pre-boarding stage?  

SDL is working with the BT Team to provide 'pending worker' access to the learning module during the pre-boarding stage. Further communication will be shared with Human Resources (HR) colleagues. 

 

6. Can HR Specialists assign training to new staff members, or can this action only be performed by supervisors? 

As this relates to role assignments, SDL will liaise with the BT Team and revert to HR colleagues about the possibility. Until then, please guide new staff to self-enrol in IOM mandatory trainings and managers can also assign these directly, if needed. 

 

7. I completed the PSEAH training last year but am not sure how to access my certificate?

8. Will mandatory trainings appear as completed in my Wave Learn transcript if I previously completed these in I-Learn?
