1. Can G-staff apply for the UN Emerging Leaders e-Learning?
For this programme, the target audience is limited to P2, P3, NO-B, NO-C and NO-D staff members only with managerial responsibilities. Professional growth opportunities for colleagues in other staff categories will continue to be offered by SDL in 2024.

  2. Can P-staff in P2 level apply for theUN Emerging Leaders e-Learning?
Yes, P-2 level staff with managerial responsibility may apply for the programme.

  3. Can P-staff above the P3 level apply for the UN Emerging Leaders e-Learning?
Within the Professional category, only staff at the P3 level are eligible to apply for the UNELE as the UN System Staff College (UNSSC) is targeting mid-level managers. Please follow SDL’s Yammer page for other UNSSC leadership programmes that will be advertised for colleagues at the P4 level and higher in 2024.

  4. Are staff members holding Ungraded (UG) contracts eligible to apply?
The UNELE application is currently only targeted at specific categories of Professional and National staff. SDL will offer additional professional development opportunities, including for staff on UG contracts, in 2024.

  5. Since applicants should have worked at IOM for 2 consecutive years, should the entire time have been at the P2, P3, NO-B, NO-C or NO-D levels only or would staff be eligible to apply as long as they have accumulated 2 years overall within the Professional (e.g. a mix of 1 year at NO-A and 1 year at P2 level) or National categories?
Applicants need to demonstrate adequate experience in managing teams successfully and in consistently applying leadership competencies within their scope of work. As the selection process is very competitive, ideally applicants should meet the 2-year requirement at the P2, P3, NO-B, NO-C or NO-D levels.
