To ensure a successful mentoring relationship, please keep the following points in mind:

  • Plan and communicate: Schedule meetings in advance and participate actively. If rescheduling becomes necessary, notify the other party as soon as possible.
  • Honour commitments: Follow through on commitments made during sessions. If your circumstances change or you face unexpected challenges that prevent you from continuing with the programme, inform the other party promptly.
  • Maintain confidentiality: Build trust by keeping all shared information during mentoring sessions strictly confidential. If you are unsure how to handle a particular situation, review the relevant FAQs or contact the Programme Administrators for guidance.
  • Provide and receive feedback:
    1. As a mentor, share constructive feedback with your mentee(s) by recognizing their efforts and encouraging their progress.
    2. As a mentee, express gratitude for your mentor's time and guidance, and offer positive suggestions to enhance the mentoring experience.

Open and honest communication will help both parties make necessary adjustments in a timely manner, ultimately strengthening the mentoring relationship.
