1. How do I upload self-paced E-learning courses, videos, and other learning materials to Wave Learn? 

Please access this service request form to upload learning content to the LMS.



2. Will the links to E-Learning courses that were hosted in I-Learn change in Wave Learn? If yes, as a training owner, do I need to update our communication materials with the new links? 

Yes, as we change the Learning Management System, the course links will also change. Training owners are invited to contact SDL post go-live in January 2025 to discuss this aspect. Due to the volume of transactions expected with the change of systems, we are counting on the patience of colleagues during this transitional phase. 

 

3. Can I continue to award badges for my trainings in Wave Learn? 

Awarding of badges in Wave Learn is currently not possible; however, the SDL and BT teams will keep you updated about future developments. 

 

4. Can I customize completion certificates for my trainings in Wave Learn? 

Customization of training certificates in Wave Learn would not be possible. Learners will receive the standard IOM-issued certificate. 

 

5. Can I continue to send requests to upload pop-ups and banner images for course promotions in the new Learning Management System (LMS)? 

Pop-ups and banners for course promotions are currently not feasible in the new LMS. Should this change in the future, SDL will keep you updated. Meanwhile, please continue submitting your training promotion requests for Viva Engage via this link. 

 

6. What technical settings should be used when creating new E-Learning content for uploading to Wave Learn? 

The preferred authoring tools are: 1) Storyline; 2) Lectora; and, 3) Captivate. In addition, please ensure that the following technical specifications are followed to ensure compatibility.

Completion criteria should be set below 100 to avoid user issues with course completion 

 

7. What technical settings should be used when developing learning videos for Wave Learn? 

Please ensure that the following technical settings are used for videos.

8. What technical settings should be used when designing learning guides or reading materials for uploading to Wave Learn? 

The only supported file format is PDF, with a maximum file size of 1 GB.


9. Does Wave Learn have a "Playlist" functionality like I-Learn did? 

Wave Learn does have a playlist-like functionality called "specialization". The SDL team is working to enable this functionality in the coming weeks and will reach out to training owners once their playlists from I-Learn have been recreated as specializations in Wave Learn.
